Episode 8: Pubic Symphysis and Public Transportation Blues

Today my dog took off running at the park.

Without thinking I took off after him, instantly knowing my body would make me pay for it later.

My partner who was on the other side of the field, called him over, and all was ok.

Except, for the rest of our morning family walk, I was acutely aware of my pubic symphysis.

I am most days anyway, as this nagging discomfort is familiar to me now, more than halfway through my third pregnancy. I know what to do to help it not ache quite so much.

I’m a professional after all.

I help others with this same pain.

One thing I recommend,

is NOT breaking into a run suddenly.

Anyway, I went to the studio to meet some choreographers who will be making work there, injecting their own magic into what has become a sacred space.

For expecting parents and families

For artists

For transformation

Great conversation, mutual interests, cup-filling interaction over, I sit down to think about maybe shooting this week’s video, contemplating the care I will take with my pelvis while exploring this amazing, human-growing body of mine.

Not bad work for an old girl.

A few minutes go by and a city bus side-swipes my parked car across the street. Sigh.

Almost two hours later, with the contact information of the transportation supervisor and a claim number, I shuffle back into the studio and refill my cup,

carefully,

thoughtfully,

without judgement.

Movement is Magic.
